What is the Political Courage Test?

California Congressional Election 2012 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
all pregnant females should at least be counseled as to the dangers of abortion. Parents or guardians of young girls should be notified before doing any procedure. Women should be aware that a certain amount of depression can set in if they have an abortion.
Yes Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
Yes Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
I would like to know if the U.S. is involved in protecting the poppy fields. Are we involved in the business of bringing drugs to America?

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing the federal budget. In order to balance the budget,

No do you support reducing defense spending?
No do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes do you support reducing Medicaid spending?
Yes do you support reducing Medicare spending?
Yes Is balancing the budget a legislative priority?
Do you mean wasteful spending? or government spending. The military wastes a lot in the form of so called obsolete merchandise that is routinely thrown into ocean. How many supply arangements have a side job selling military goods?
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
A form could be created stating that any contribution received will not result in any political favor. Any contribution resulting in legislation, money disbursement etc., cannot go to any friend, relative or family member of donor or recipient. Form must be signed for each contribution. Forms to be filed in the appropriate offices of house and Senate.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
There would be no more terribly feeling than excuting an innocent suspect. We have to continue perfecting our evidence collecting and storage technologies. How about the same punishment for anyone who "railroads" an innocent person. False testimony, illegal planting of "evidence" or other such behavior will not be tolerated.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
If you support federal spending to promote economic growth (1), then then you must support spending on projects for job creation (3). How much comes from earmarks?
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
What kind of education reform? If the reform means promoting social promotion or advancing one race over another or favoring one sex over another, I would oppose those reforms. Reforms can mean almost anything. The word 'reform' can be positive or negative. Ex: the word 'change' was used extensively by Obama. I do not like the way the 'change' is going.
Yes Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Our country should have been 100% energy independent 25 years ago OR 30 years ago. Remember Carter limiting oil production? He said we needed to keep it so we would have some when the Saudis ran out. We have a least 200 years worth of natural resources. Keep working on green projects until it is cheap and reliable. Let the private sector compete for business in green energy. NO Need for GOV'T. to get invoLved.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
It is not right to keep beating the people down with unreasonable laws, rules and regulations. The more laws rules and regulations we have the more we are all potential criminals.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
I do think that convicted felons or people with certain proven mental conditions should not be able to buy a gun! But a felon would probably just steal one. Veterans claiming P.T.S.D should not be allowed to buy a gun.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
our health care systems run by the govT, we are being consistently ripped off. Ex: medicare. I personally use the V.A system. I know the V.A system is GOVT run but if the GOVT tries to run all medical care, there will be much more waste & fraud. If the GOVT wants to take care of the destitute, I think they already do, then there is no reason to force everyone else. Catastrophic health care insurance at an affordable price might be helpful. If we cap mal-practice awards at $500,000, doctor mal-practice insurance rates would go down. Allowing people [...]
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
It is important for illegal immigrants to turn themselves in. if someone is legal they will have an easier time in America.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
You can not legislate morality. NOR should you try. Human sexuality is just another aspect of Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness Same sex couples can have death benefits, civil unions and adopt children.
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Yes Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?
What do you mean by targeting? I think you mean tracking. Is Iran's missile delivery system capable of delivering a nuclear warhead to America? How about N. Korea, China, or other unfriendly nations?
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
I think that people worth $5mil or more should not receive a S.S. check. Eliminating S.S. checks for the rich is but one of many budget reducing tools that could be employed and not hurt anyone.
